Adrienne Dorr of Pembroke capped\u00a0an extraordinary debut season by being named\u00a0Yankee Small College Conference\u00a0Player of the Year and Second Team All-American.<\/p>\n

Despite an injury setback, the Pembroke Academy graduate\u00a0amassed 14 goals and 7 assists\u00a0in just 10 games. It all started when she scored a hat trick in her first career college game\u00a0while adding an assist. She was named the season\u2019s first\u00a0YSCC Player of the Week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cross country continues to impress<\/h2>\n

Concord native and Concord High School alum\u00a0Ryan Gillis earned his place on the all-conference cross country team. Joining him from the Lynx was teammate Andrew Strauss, a Souhegan alumni from Amherst.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gillis finished 16th at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships on Nov.\u00a012. He finished the 8K race with a 31:03.3 time.<\/p>\n

Most of the Lynx cross country runners also compete on the track team in the spring. The team was guided by coaches Graham Hayslip and Perry Seagroves and began two years ago out of the close, dedicated community of student-runners at NHTI. A number of Lynx track and field members were invited to the USCAA National Championships last year in only their second season as a team.<\/p>\n

Volleyball improved under a new coach<\/h2>\n

The Lynx achieved an impressive feat by reaching the conference semifinals. Head coach\u00a0Brett Sayer joined the team from Colby Sawyer, where he was named Coach of the Year multiple times with the Chargers. Under Sayer\u2019s guidance, NHTI marked a significant improvement, finishing the season with a 5-5 conference record, a notable stride forward from the previous season\u2019s 3-5 mark.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Emma Ferguson of Penacook was recognized on the all-conference volleyball team. Ferguson\u2019s offensive talent added a spark to every game.\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
