Let me get this straight. Gov Chris Sununu now wants to spend $850,000 to send 15 NH National Guard troops to Texas to help with border protection. Yet just last week the governor\u2019s own Republican Party sabotaged a bipartisan bill months in the making that provided not only aid for Ukraine and Israel, but $20 billion earmarked for border security measures.<\/p>\n
These monies would have been used to hire thousands of new border patrol officers, expediting asylum claims, curtailing fentanyl smuggling and support for local governments. With Nikki Haley\u2019s prospects for presidential nomination fading quickly, Sununu must be signaling a hard right turn and that he\u2019s available for the Trump bandwagon. The NH Fiscal Committee must reject the governor\u2019s request.<\/p>\n
