For years, Republican lawmakers in New Hampshire have championed \u201cRight-to-Work\u201d laws as safeguards against forced union membership and political contribution coercion. However, this narrative is misleading. The prohibition against compelling workers to join unions or support political causes they oppose has long been established since 1947. Despite claims of its benefits to business and workers, there\u2019s scant evidence that \u201cRight-to-Work\u201d laws attract more businesses or enhance worker conditions.<\/p>\n
Rather, they represent a concerted effort to weaken unions and erode the rights of New Hampshire workers. In New Hampshire, unions play a crucial role in safeguarding wages, workplace rights, and living standards for working families. Fragmenting unions will only lead to diminished wages, living standards, and working conditions. Now, more than ever, New Hampshire workers must unite to oppose \u201cRight-to-Work\u201d legislation. It\u2019s detrimental to our state and to American working families at large. Let\u2019s urge legislators to vote \u201cITL\u201d on House Bill 1377 and uphold the rights and dignity of our workforce.<\/p>\n
