A Ceska Zbrojovka (CZ), Scorpion EVO 3 S2 like this one was recovered at the scene of a double murder in Franklin. It was legally sold in New Hampshire as a pistol before it landed in the hands of Justin Gebo, a convicted felon, according to agents with the Bureau of Alcohol Firearms and Tobacco. Jamie Bell, the suspect in the murders was found dead in Franklin following a manhunt.<\/figcaption><\/figure>

A former Belmont man pleaded guilty to illegally possessing\u00a0firearms including a short-barreled rifle that was found at a double murder in Franklin in June.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Justin Gebo, 29, pleaded guilty to two counts of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, including being in possession of a firearm while under indictment and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young.<\/p>\n

Gebo possessed\u00a0a Ceska Zrojovka, known as a\u00a0 CZ Scorpion EVO\u00a0with an attached armbrace, while he was under felony indictment for another crime, according to court documents.\u00a0Gebo was also in possession of a 17 Design and Manufacturing multicaliber\u00a0AR-style rifle\u00a0after he had been convicted of a crime, prosecutors said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The short-barrel CZ Scorpion EVO\u00a0was later recovered from the scene of the fatal shooting on Elkins Street on June 3, 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police were called to the\u00a0home shared by Jamie Bell, Nicole Hughes and her two daughters, aged 18 months and five years, for reports of a shooting. Officials said Bell, 42, shot and killed Hughes, 35, and their toddler, Ariella Bell. He also wounded Hughes\u2019 five-year-old daughter, who survived.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bell was found dead on the banks of the Merrimack River following a six-hour manhunt. According to the autopsy, Bell died of a single, self-inflicted wound and his cause of death was ruled a suicide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators learned the gun located at the scene of the murders was bought in April 2019 in Hooksett and sold to several different owners before it was purchased by Gebo in January, according to court documents.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators learned that Gebo and Bell had known each other for the last 20 years.<\/p>\n

The charge of felon in possession of a firearm provides for a sentence of no greater than 15 years in prison, up to 3 years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. The charge of possession of a firearm while under indictment provides for a sentence of no greater than 5 years in prison, up to 3 years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n
