A heavy sustained wind of 20-25 miles per hour knocked out power to thousands and almost got in the way of customers getting their morning Dunkin Donuts in Concord\u2019s south end.<\/p>\n

With gusts of up to 45 miles per hour, Thursday\u2019s wind proved problematic across the state.<\/p>\n

About 14,000 people lost power around sunrise, but with clear skies, crews were able to reduce outages throughout the day. By 2:30 p.m., Eversource reported about 3,000 customers without electricity. <\/p>\n

Not to be thwarted, the Dunkin Donuts on Manchester Street kept the coffee brewing despite its sign toppling in the parking lot.<\/p>\n

Safety officials urged caution.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you lose power, keep you and your family safe,\u201d said Robert Buxton, Director of the New Hampshire Department of Safety\u2019s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. \u201cPractice power outage safety.
