The answer? Very well.<\/p>\n        <p>Fourteen different wrestlers provided victories, including 3-0 days from sophomore Hunter Hutchinson (285 pounds), seniors Ben McDowell (165) and Jared Dolder (150), and freshman Shane Rabalais (126), as the D-III Falcons defeated Manchester Central, 69-12, Manchester Memorial, 45-12, and Bishop Guertin, 43-32, on their home mats on Saturday.<\/p>\n        <p>Bow is now 11-0 in dual meets.\u00a0<\/p>\n        <p>\u201cThese guys rose to the occasion and handled business,\u201d said Falcons head coach Bill Chavanelle. \u201cI was especially proud of our younger guys for stepping up in big situations and coming through for our team.\u201d<\/p>\n        <p>Among those younger wrestlers was Hutchinson, who won two matches by pin and one by decision in the heavyweight class. Hutchinson was also the only Bow wrestler who had to contest all three bouts and win, picking up zero victories by forfeit.<\/p>\n        <p>Rabalais picked up wins by pin, decision and forfeit, while Chavanelle also highlighted freshmen Josh Roos (120) and Jacob Hammond (157), who both went 2-0.<\/p>\n        <p>Hammond won both matches by pin, while Roos won once by pin and once by forfeit.<\/p>\n        <p>Dolder had the biggest victory of the day, defeating Bishop Guertin\u2019s Jack Fostter in double overtime. With the match tied, 1-1, Dolder was able to get an escape and then rode out his opponent to hang on and win by decision, picking up a crucial three points for Bow in what was the closest dual of the day.<\/p>\n        <p>\u201cBG was a big test for us,\u201d Chavanelle said. \u201cI wholeheartedly believe they\u2019ll be a top three team in D-II.\u201d<\/p>\n        <p>McDowell won two matches by pin and one by forfeit.<\/p>\n        <p>Sophomore Chase Flagg went 2-0 at 190, while Joe McDowell (175), Adler Moura (120) and Josiah Funches (157) also picked up victories.<\/p>\n        <p>Bow\u2019s intentions from the start of the season have been clear &#8211; to win the Division III championship \u2013\u00a0but there is still plenty of wrestling to be had between Saturday\u2019s wins and the state championship on Feb. 17, including the highly-competitive Capital Classic hosted by Concord High School on Jan. 27.<\/p>\n        <p>\u201c(They) continue to improve and make the adjustments needed to make a long run come postseason,\u201d Chavanell said. \u201cI couldn\u2019t be prouder of these guys and the way they conduct themselves and hold each other to a high standard. We still have a lot to clean up, but this group is focused on getting better and raising the standard for Bow wrestling.\u201d<\/p>\n        <h2>Dan Gionet Memorial<\/h2>\n        <p>The John Stark wrestling team finished fourth out of 13 teams against mostly out-of-state competition at the Dan Gionet Memorial Tournament hosted by Pelham High School.<\/p>\n        <p>Sanford, Maine (232.5 points), Pelham (149), Tyngsborough\/Dracut, Mass. (142), John Stark (136) and Otter Valley, Vt. (118) were the top five team scores.<\/p>\n        <p>Junior Alex Descoteau followed up last weekend\u2019s performance with yet another tournament title, claiming the 190-pound class with four victories by pin.<\/p>\n        <p>Deltyn Williams (second 165), Stephen Johnston (second 157), Hunter Griffin (third 132), Lukas Boulanger (third 215), Caleb Hauptman (fourth 126) and Lyncoln Jablonski (fourth 113) also placed for the Generals.<\/p>\n        <h2>Winnisquam Winter Classic<\/h2>\n        <p>The Bears finished second out of 20 teams on their home mats at the annual Winnisquam Winter Classic.\u00a0<\/p>\n        <p>Spaulding topped the standings with 249 points, followed by Winnisquam (208), Middlebury, Vt. (158), Timberlane (154.5) and Concord (132) in the top five.<\/p>\n        <p>Sophomore Dylan Griffin won four matches by pin and one by decision to claim the 132-pound title, while senior Henry Osmer was Winnisquam\u2019s other champion, pinning four opponents en route to the 150 crown.<\/p>\n        <p>Philipp Rompf (second 175), Ryan Cormier (second 120), Victor Pham (third 157), Colin Parenteau (third 138), Michael Defosse (sixth 215) and Sam Weisman (sixth 165) also placed for the Bears.<\/p>\n        <p>With Concord\u2019s varsity wrestlers competing in the Concord Super Quad meet on Saturday, some of the Tide\u2019s other grapplers got more time on the mats.<\/p>\n        <p>Sawyer McCready (second 138), Charlie Sarette (third 175), Nicholas Roberts (fourth 120), Jeremy Richard (fourth 150), Jacob Breau (fourth 285) and Owen Gregg (sixth 132) placed for Concord.<\/p>\n        <p>Hopkinton\u2019s Nolan Linstad was fifth at 138.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bow\u2019s coaching staff was curious to see how well their Falcons would hold up against Division I and D-II competition.
