The Commissioner of Agriculture weighed in on a local zoning enforcement in Londonderry and gave his \u201clegal\u201d opinion that \u201cagricultural trucking\u201d was a separate category trucking. Here is an excerpt from his \u201copinion\u201d letter: \u201cThe trucking of agricultural products must be seen as separate from trucking in general. If a plumbing company were operating its trucks from the location then there could be no argument that it was an agricultural activity, but agricultural trucking is included in the very definition of agriculture. Therefore under presumption your zoning ordinance would have to address agricultural trucking in order to take action.\u201d <\/p>\n
The trucking in question is terminal trucking and wholesale food distribution being done in a residential neighborhood at night in Londonderry. The commissioner\u2019s comments fit the agenda of the Londonderry Town Council so they read this letter during a public session and used his gibberish to circumvent zoning laws.<\/p>\n
