Warner Area Food Pantry & Family Closet (Warner Connects NH) is one of many local, completely volunteer-run nonprofits in the Kearsarge area, which works along with other organizations to support our community in meeting basic human needs of food, shelter, clothing, connection and care. Rural communities such as ours simply do not have the resources to do this work alone. According to the board of selectman they believe charging a minimal rent of $400 a month is necessary to offset the building costs with a town having an annual budget of $4.4 million.
Warner Connects NH distributed over $100,000 worth of food and commodities to the community we live in and surrounding neighbors. Any money spent on rent comes directly out of the organization’s funds that would otherwise go towards feeding and clothing those in need. Warner has always been willing to help others. We urge our neighbors to attend the town meeting on Wednesday, March 13, at 6 p.m. in Warner Town Hall to support our collaborative efforts to help care for our neighbors.
